Shout Out to the Poets
 
Give a shout out to my family, in the poet communities
They say we make much ado of life’s calamities
Never trust a poet love their looking for a muse
Hearts we wear upon our sleeve we often get blues
 
We call for understanding; yea we want a better day
We know that we can make a change with what we have to say
We come from different walks of life, but that doesn’t mean a thing
Don’t need a thousand boundaries we know we’re the same
 
The world is locked in crisis, we see the enemy
The reckless path the world has taken is our commonality
We know the wiser roadway more than most who scorn our ways
Living for the moment now, tomorrow come what may
 
Give a shout out to my family of the parchment and the pen
We show the world what love is for we help them find their Zen
The sisters our so gentle but they know the battle lines
The brothers know that strength of heart can stop a greedy mind
 
Give a shout out to a nation we need the written word
We show the world A path of love please don’t get disturbed
Give a shout to the lovers and poets on the mend
Another to the soldiers of peace in the army of the pen
 
We’re together like no other; we show the world their sin
We are the passion the higher mind aloha poet friends
