+karen hayward, I was so glad to work with Michael, a wonderful friend, gentleman, brilliant poet, and owner of a gentle, romantic heart and soul..

Memories Of Almost

A memory catches a passing mist.
My eyes reflecting a heavenly tryst.
Singing again our amber composition,
inflecting melancholic past decisions.
To be not where you are,
The bloom dies hard,
I feel alone in a crowd.
The thoughts of others seem but a passing cloud.
I wonder about you in the quiet time,
If happiness found greater in arms not mine...

The memory ever-present,
Of love in intimate moments.
From a joyful, cherished past,
Remaining with me, as if etched onto glass.
In quiet reflection, in reminiscence,
Such longing for you surfaces.
Born of memories, a loving recollection,
Leaving me forever wondering of-
The almost of us…
